5 Ways To Stimulate a Cane Corso: Fun Activities For Your Dog
If you are the proud owner of a Cane Corso, you probably want to know some ways to stimulate your Cane Corso. These dogs were bred to work, and if they don’t get enough exercise, they can become destructive or hyperactive.
In this blog post, we will discuss 5 ways to stimulate a Cane Corso to keep them happy and healthy!
5 Ways To Stimulate a Cane Corso

It is very important to stimulate your Cane Corso. It is incredible how fast a Cane Corso gets bored. Bored dogs are more likely to bark, chew on things that they aren’t supposed to, and overall be destructive. That’s why it is so important to stimulate your dog in order to avoid these problems.
Cane Corso requires at least one hour of mental and physical stimulation each day in order to stay healthy and happy.
Here are 5 ways to stimulate a Cane Corso:
1. Go on a long walks every day

Cane Corso’s are intelligent dogs that need to be challenged mentally as well as physically. Going out for a walk is a combination of both mental and physical stimulation. Dogs that don’t go out so often get very excited when they finally get the chance to be outside. This is when they can’t contain their excitement.
Taking out your Cane Corso on a daily walk will prevent them from being over-excited when they find themselves outside.
Walking is more than just a physical activity. It is about sensory stimulation and sensory stimulation is about being able to smell things, see new things, being able to hear things, taste things, and touch things. That really helps relieve your Cane Corso’s boredom.
In general, taking your Cane Corso for about an hour walk a day is enough but do keep in mind the aging or growing bones. So, just be careful to give your Cane Corso enough exercise according to their age. Do not over-exercise them.
2. Play hide and seek
A great way to stimulate a Cane Corso is by playing hide and seek. Hide and seek can be played by hiding yourself, hiding their favorite toy, or hiding some treats. Either way, this game is fun and can be played for hours.
The game is pretty simple. However, you have to change things up every now and then to keep your Cane Corso puppy interested. What I would like to do is play hide and seek where I hide. Then, the next day I will hide his favorite toy and the third day I would just hide a bowl of treats.
But, keep in mind that your Cane Corso won’t have a clue of what to do in the beginning. It does take some time for them to catch up. However, they are quite intelligent dogs and this won’t take forever. Start by simply hiding behind a curtain where your Cane Corso is still able to see you. When they come to you, use verbal praise. Then, make it a bit hard and hide in another room.
Once your Cane Corso gets the idea, you can start by showing them the bowl of treats and tell them to sit while you go and hide it. The same goes if you are going to hide their favorite toy. Just be creative and hide and seek will soon become your favorite game. It’s a simple game, yet it will stimulate your Cane Corso.
3. Feed them from an activity toy
Don’t feed your Cane Corso from a regular dog bowl. Instead, use that time to be able to give your Cane Corso some great mental stimulation. Put their food into an activity toy(see prices on amazon.com). There are loads of different activity toys on the market that you can choose from.
These activity toys make them work for their food. What might be a five-minute meal can easily turn into a thirty-minute activity. Some people might think that it is kind of cruel to feed your dog this way because you are sort of playing with them. However, dogs used to have to hunt and find things in the wild before they became house pets. So, allow them to do that in your home.
Some people like to step things up and get more than one activity toy. They hide their dog’s meals into multiple activity toys and hide those throughout the house and their yards. The Cane Corso has to hunt for them and this kind of game can mean that your dog is eating is being active and then sleeps afterward because the activity tied it out. It is really a great way to stimulate a Cane Corso.
4. Go to a dog park at least once a week

One of the best ways to stimulate your Cane Corso is by taking them on trips to the dog park. These parks provide a variety of different obstacles and activities for dogs to play with, as well as plenty of space for them to run around. Make sure to take along plenty of water and snacks, and be prepared to clean up any messes they may make.
Cane Corso loves to run, and the dog park is a safe place to let them off-leash. This is a great way to give them the exercise they need. Dog parks are especially great If you don’t have a fenced-in yard or other safe areas for them to run. Taking them for regular walks or runs around the neighborhood does work too, but they will have a blast at the dog park.
5. Agility course

Cane Corso dogs are not only smart but also very athletic. They are able to jump and run with ease, making them a perfect candidate for an agility course. This will stimulate your Cane Corso and they will be entertained for hours.
One of my favorite way to stimulate a Cane Corso at home is an agility course. Basically, whether it’s in the living room or outside in the backyard, you can set up different things that they’ll need to move around and jump on top of and go through.
You can buy some equipment online or you can use the furniture that you already have at home. Keep in mind the weight of your Cane Corso and don’t use items from your home that might break from their weight.
Why It’s Important To Stimulate Your Cane Corso
Cane Corso’s are social creatures that need stimulation and interaction in order to stay happy and healthy. A lack of stimulation can lead to a number of behavioral problems, including boredom, destructive chewing, digging, barking, and more.
That’s why it’s important to make sure your Cane Corso has plenty of opportunities for mental and physical stimulation every day. This can include things like walks, runs, playtime, training sessions, and puzzle toys. Stimulation is important for dogs of all ages, but it’s especially important for puppies who are still growing and developing.
So next time you’re feeling bored or stressed out, remember that your Cane Corso could be feeling the same way. Make sure to give them the attention and stimulation they need to stay happy and healthy. And if you’re feeling really ambitious, try training them a new trick or teaching them how to play fetch!
